Guys don’t presume you don’t have rights for this and that. late in spring of 2005 I had a meeting with my state’s senator and he took all my details and wrote to Backlog Center in Philadelphia. After 2 months his office called me and send me the correspondence they got from BEC. They had description about my file etc. my labor was cleared in a month after that. Apparently BECs informed his office about the approval too, and to my surprize they called me up again and told me the news. They are public office they are answerable to us, we need to ask…
I'm not saying we don't have rights, but what you are asking are the internal workings of a government agency.
You can't even vote. You can't even just change employers without hassle. You can't even just leave the country and come without proper documents. You can't even apply for a student loan. You can be deported any time you have a problem. You can't even renew your driver's license without showin proof of proper residency.
Even with GC your rights are still not as good as a US citizen.

Senator Specter seems to emphasize that he would like to get done with amendments etc. and to make sure that he meets Bill Frist's deadline of March 27th so that it can be debated
Senator Brownback is bringing an amendment to extend J1 visa which apparently expires this year
Will keep on updating as and when I hear things

Apparently the quorum is not present at the committee to vote on the amendments, but senator Specter is stating whether he will support the amendment or not.

My husbands DL expires on Oct 1st, 2007. The North Carolina DMV insists that he should have a valid H1B visa stamp in his PP in order to renew the license. He does have a valid H1B extension with I-94 at the bottom till Oct.2009. We dont want to leave the country as we are filing for our I-485's.
Any one in NC have any suggestions?
We recently went got our driving licenses renewed with our H visa extension I-797s. DMV didn't ask for an unexpired visa. All they wanted was a visa stamp in the passport to make sure that we legally entered US.

You started this thread saying that USCIS has a "deadline" for completing stuffs last Monday or last last Friday.... All of us trusted you that time - Could you please give us a responsible answer or status Update.

They open up the gate for all July filer, then closed it and then re-open it again when many protested. So, when someone shared the news that USCIS is not going to accept the july filings, everyone mocked him but that came out to be true.

People started cursing logiclife when he posted about the FAQ4 to be released by friday and it didn't. But it did came after 2-3 days. So someone who shared that info with Core might have just said we are trying our best to come up with FAQ4 and will release it by Friday and core shared that info with everyone. But that doesn't mean that people should take that info as if it doesn't come on Friday, it will be the end of the world and core should loose his credibility. FAQ4 did came after couple of days and all those people who were cursing logiclife were no where to be seen.
If you put up a clause that no-one should share the info, unless you have a word from God, I guess we'll not have more than 2 or 3 threads here.
So guys..bottom line is stop fighting over what someone said or not, concentrate on what you are doing about it.
As someone rightly said, "Listen to all but do what you think is right". There is similar adage in hindi but I'm not using hindi so that everyone can understand it.

Came here in 98. Applied in 2003. Waiting ever since. Had enough of this BS. I was ok until they started screwing around with EAD's and AP's this year. Recently, got a a couple of offers in India ranging from 30 - 45 lac / yr. Thinking of going back. Its not worth waiting in this line anymore.

we need to write to Sen Joe Lofgren now more than ever..she will try to push the legal bill..also we need to write to her to compensate for some of the waiting time ...so that it gets counted for the citizenship..at least from when the I-485 was applied..I think we will see some sort of push for this ..my only concern is that we again will get caight with the illegals and our issue will be pushed to the side

Univs take business decisions. Enrollment generates revenue through tuition. Some states also pay State Schools for each registered credit.
Univs have to admit whatever is available. Some crappy students (foriegn + American) have to be admitted. Some state schools have very low requirements for in-state students. There is no choice.
Further, these students have to graduate. Once again, there is no choice.
For most departments, faculty quality is independent of student quality.

But also can some one point to me to place where it says H1B is not dual intent , i could only find DUAL iNTENT for some students.

We have a CIR that is going no where. We need to dicuss what he said, she said about CIR and what is happening or going to happen in senate. We don't have time to discuss this PD.
