    Lots of activity to report. Congressional Hispanic Caucus leaders met this week with President Obama who said he wants a vote during the Lame Duck and would work the phones to round up votes. Harry Reid tweeted today that he'll offer the DREAM Act as a standalone bill which will hopefully help bring along a few of the "procedural" no voters from last September who indicated they like the DREAM Act but didn't believe in tacking it on to a budget bill.     I have been working for a non-profit organization and have a H1-B through them. I never applied to the regular commercial H1. I was wondering if I can just transfer this non-profit H1 to a commercial company. Please share your experiences and thoughts.

    For how many years does the employer have to guarantee that it has funding to pay my salary? Or how does this thing work out. My employer has 300+ employees.
    Any other requirements from the employer?

    The employer has to be big enough (300+ is a big company) or if small (such as less than 15), it has to show company's return and sometimes business in hand.

    Those who were able to upgrade to premium processing before Jul 2, did you get a new receipt number for the upgrade? Or was the old receipt number valid?

    old one remains valid. Your status on that will indicate that the application has been upgraded to PP, and then the same reciept number will tell you about the decision

    I am a US Citizen and will be filing a petition (i 130) to bring my mother over on a greencard.
    Recently on her visit to the US on a visitor visa she was marked as NO AOS/COS/EOS on her I - 94
    and she left by the date specified on her i - 94.
    My question is will it have any effect on her GC petition and what is the current wait time for consular processing on an i-130 petition

    Animal portraits are my "thing", so I don't mean to be overcritical... Try to get the animal's face in the light. The rooster's a good subject, and you got down to rooster height, which is really good, and you got him when crowing - a great behavior. Unfortunately, the face is in shadow, and that means you don't get the "catchlight" sparkle in the eye. Also, you often don't get the eye quite in focus, since autofocus works on contrast. A lot of faults in a protrait can be overlooked if the eye is sharp. In this case, you're focused on the neck feathers, not quite on the eye, so if you can reshoot it, try for getting light in the eye, and I think you'll like the results even more. Good luck & have fun with it!

    Hello,
    My husband will go to India for long time. I am on H4 in USA. He wants to file H4 to F1. If he is in india, then will I be out of status here ?Do I also have to leave USA with my husband eventhough if my visa change is in progress ? please advise
